The Cellular Charity sponsors cell phone fundraisers for schools, churches, charities, and groups for the purpose of raising funds for any needed project or cause. Does your school need operating expenses? Do you have a sick friend who needs money for hospital bills? Could you combine a mobile phone drive with the annual walk-a-thon? The Cellular Charity will help you promote and complete a successful campaign from beginning to end. We'll make it easy for you to possibly raise over $3000 within a month's time! And many of your regular contibuters will give more this way than they will in annual donations!

Almost everyone has used cell phones laying around their home or office which contain mercury and lead and should not be thrown away into the local landfill. The Cellular Charity takes these items, as well as computers and cameras, and we recycle them in order to protect the environment and provide less fortunate people with mobile phones at affordable prices, less than half of retail. This helps to span the technological divide that exists between developing nations and our own, stimulating the economy and promoting free trade. Many other phones are given to hurricane victims or non-profit organizations. "Dinosaur phones" are deposited into hazardous waste facilities. We are experienced in this profession and we enjoy helping others to raise cash for good causes. We believe every successful business should share their success with others! As we give, so shall we receive!
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
Once you decide you want to go forward, we will help you initiate the following steps:
1) First, we'll offer you several options for publicizing the cell phone drive to members and the community. Some members will even give more financially via the wireless compensation than they would normally give by way of check!
2) Once you choose several methods of promotion, we'll give you free master copies to print and email. Flyers will go to bulletin boards, ads may be printed in local newspapers, emails will be sent to others as you designate.
3) Before donations begin to pour in, we'll provide labeled boxes at drop-off locations. Donators may be able to write off their donations as tax-deductible.
4) We will collect the donations by local pick-up or through parcel-post mail. We will inspect them for unuseable phones and once we've made an appraisal within 2-4 weeks, we'll issue you a check!
PHONE PRICES:
Phone prices are set as follows:
Older open-face phones: $2-10 each
Newer open-face phones: $8-20 each
Older flip phones: $5-15 each
Newer flip phones: $15-30 each
Camera phones: $15-50 each
Smart phones: $30-100 each
The above prices are determined according to the condition of each phone, the accessories included, and whether or not there are bills attached. The difference between "newer and older" phones primarily has to do with whether the devise has a black and white LCD screen or a color screen. The Cellular Charity has to assume the loss for many phones, and that is figured into the prices we offer above. Also, many phones have problems which can't be predicted until after they are activated...but in the end most people think the prices we offer are reasonable since their phones would have remained in obscure places around the house or business for years without ever being used again. And by the way we accept corporate donations also!
The secret to success here is primarily in the promotion of the fundraising drive itself. Obviously if one organization invests in newspaper and radio they will make out better than the group which posts a few flyers around town. If the cause is worthy or sparks an interest in us, we may help out with your advertising expenditures.
The cell phones you see here are the kind we're generally looking for, although we prefer the chargers and user manuals also. Once we receive a new shipment, we find (or buy) chargers and batteries, test each phone, and run the ESN numbers for unpaid bills. Then we clean and repair any broken devises; replacing LCD screens, antennas, faceplates, etc. It's a lot of work but we enjoy it! Phones which have bills or can't be used in the States are shipped out to third-world nations and inter-denominational missionaries.
